Hey
everyone,
I really
missed you guys over the break. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving
holiday, with lots of fun and family.
Just a
reminder, no youth group meeting this Sunday, but we will be having book study
next Wednesday, and then Saturday is the D9 Event.
What is
D9? I’m glad you asked. We will be helping the Salvation Army pass
out flyers Saturday morning (12/9) from 11 AM to 1 PM (Bring a sack lunch).
Then that evening at the Dewald
Center we’ll meet at 5 PM
to get ready for the event (which goes from 6-8 PM) and stay till 9 PM to help
clean up. Our primary mission in the event is to just hang out with kids,
have fun with them, and be a Christian witness to them. There will be
video games, break-dancing lessons, games, prizes, food, and the whole
shebang! Please mark your calendar and let me know if you can help pass
out flyers Saturday morning.
Sunday
night (12/10) will be regular youth group.
For all of
you interested in doing a college visit (seniors and juniors, especially, but
it’s never too early to begin thinking about schools) here is a registration
form for a visit day in January to Ashland
University. I got
an email about a Christian Concert (Bethany Dillon) on Jan. 26th and
the University also has this visit day planned for the same time. AU has
a really nice campus, it’s close to home, and it’s growing a lot. Even if
you know you don’t want to stick around home, consider this as an experience
that will help you know more of what you’re looking for in colleges.
There is a lot to think about (campus life, Christian/State, programs,
facilities, cost, quality of education, etc.) Check it out.
